Booked and prepaid through British Airways; refused ALL extras at the desk (as we always do), signed the screen to say we accepted car (NO printout of what had been filled in by clerk), drove off. All OK for 3 weeks of hire, dropped car back, NEXT DAY $140 hit our credit card for extra insurance we had apparently ordered at the desk.
Avis won't discuss this, just insists we have to pay it. If they are so desperate I guess they'll take it, but they'll be losing a good customer, and I shall tell everybody who will listen DON'T USE AVIS!
