Went to Avis at 11:45pm to see if we could get our car 8 hours early to avoid coming back to the SF airport. They would only do it if we agreed to pay another $240. We went back the next morning and th lines at the Avis counter were over an hour wait. All other major car companies were about 15 minutes. Will never rent from them again

DO NOT rent a car from Avis. I reserved a car months in advance only to show up and be told there were no cars available and they had no idea when a car would be available. My trip had to be canceled because I had no car to travel in. I contacted Avis customer service and they did not assist with finding me a car at a different location.
