I reserved a car online from Avis. Price started out at $82.00.

When my itinerary was sent, they had my pick up location incorrect. I contacted the company (by the way, it took 3 calls before I said forget it) to notify them of the change that needed to be made. The 1st Rep had to contact the location where I wanted to pick the car up, they had me on hold for almost 30 minutes. The change was made, but the price went up from $82 to $114.00.

New itinerary was sent, showed price increase. Contacted Avis again asking why price was changed, told the rate had changed since I reserved the car. Main point - reserved! By the time I got through speaking with the 3rd agent, the car price went to $184.00.

Told him they were price gouging and that I did not appreciate it. None of the other rental car agencies were increasing their customers' prices because of rate changes which were due to Hurricane Florence.

Told me he would see what he could do to give me a discount of 10%. Told him I was very dissatisfied and that I would never rent anything from them.
