Terrible customer service, onsite managers need to learn how to respect customers and take training

We rented a car with Avis at Denver Airport, and experienced a car accident. We contacted AVIS Roadside Assistance and was assigned with a Tow company, however, the tow company called us stating they couldn't complete the request due to weather conditions.

We were at an unsafe location (exit of a highway with heavy snow and slippery road conditions) and needed to get out of the car ASAP. A local tow truck passed by and asked us whether we needed help. After confirming with AVIS Roadside Assistance that it is okay to have the local company tow our truck since AVIS has no ETA for finding the next tow for us, we received a text message about picking up another car at Denver airport, which is 2 hours from where we live. We went to the airport the next day, and the manager was unbelievably rude to us, refusing to provide us with another car because there was no written text or email saying that our car was towed back to the airport location.

She stated multiple times, the text we received to pick up a new car was valid unless we received another text saying our car had been towed back.

However in the next few days, after spending hours and hours calling customer service, we found out, by the time we were talking to this manager, the car HAD ALREADY BEEN TOWED BACK to the airport location and we received no information, no updates, no written text on this. THE MANAGER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE WAS DOING, and as a customer-facing business, AVIS staff was unprofessional and unrespectful at a whole new level to its customers.

Towing Incident and Poor Customer Service

I rented a Ford Edge SUV from Avis on September 20, 2024, at Tampa International Airport, and was set to return it on September 22, 2024. During my trip to Miami Beach, the car was towed due to parking restrictions.

I immediately contacted the towing company and Avis, but their customer service was terrible. They refused to provide the necessary documents to retrieve the car and insisted on sending an authorized person instead.
This has resulted in daily impound fees of $450, which I simply cannot afford.

Aviss failure to resolve the situation in a timely manner left me stranded, forced to rent another car, and now I'm also being charged additional rental fees for the original vehicle.
I deeply regret renting from Avis and find their policies and lack of customer support unacceptable. I urge others to be cautious when dealing with this company.

TWO VERY VERY VERY RUDE WOMEN AT COUNTER AT PHILLY AIRPORT

We reserved 3 rental cars throughout the summer with Avis. They took all our money up front for all 3 rentals.

On the first rental in Philly, the two high school drop out *** (I have other words for them, but this is the nicest thing I can call them on this site) laughed to our faces when they told us we could not rent a car. One *** asked the other *** "should I tell them why" while laughing at us in front of other customers. All the *** would say is we are on the Do Not Rent list and to call this number. She gave us the wrong number (on purpose, I'm sure).

We could not reach anybody and when we got back from vacation and called Avis, yes, we were told they gave us the wrong number to call. See why I call them high school drop out *** The reason we could not rent the car was because we owed $5.05 from a prior rental 3 years ago. We were never notified we owed $5.05... yes five dollars and 5 cents.

But Avis sure did take all out money up front for all 3 rentals and never said a word about not being able to rent a car. We decided to rent from Enterprise .. who was much, much cheaper and actually have people who care and know how give great customer service. This was my first time in Philly and this is how this city is...

no brotherly love there!! I own a business in the customer service industry and I would fire those two *** I will never ever rent from AVIS due to those two and how they represented their company.

Avis will probable never know about them and how they represent the company they work for... but I am sure going to make sure others know of thier *** poor service and attitude!!

Big scam cheaters! Avoid them completely!



Never ever book with Avis Car. I booked my car reservation and paid in full six months back. I called yesterday and spoke to Calvin, a customer service representative, requesting him to prepone the pickup time by one hour. However, he instead flatly canceled my booking without my permission and disconnected the phone line instantly.

I received the cancellation email immediately; it seemed they wanted me to rebook at a higher price to make more money. I called them back and talked to at least five representatives, including their New Jersey head office, but none of them were helpful despite me sharing my story in detail. I wasted at least three hours of my valuable time over the phone. Now I'm left with no other option but to book with another car rental company at a significantly higher price because my travel date is only four days away.

Avis are big cheaters in the nation. I am completely disappointed, dissatisfied, and perturbed with the services, products, and workmanship.

I had deal with them twice. First car we got we realized the next day that the temporary license plate was expired and there was no appropriate number to call so kept getting transferred. Then they had us go back to the airport to get another car when really they should have brought one to us, even though we were luckily only 2 miles from the airport.
Second problem was upon return they charged us for gas and we didn't realize it as we were in a hurry to catch the plane and we had put gas in the car right before we brought it back.I called as soon as we got off the plane on our way home and they were not very reassuring, but said they would expedite a credit and I would receive an email in 3-5 business days, which I never did. So I had to dispute it with our credit card company. Over a week later and never heard from AVIS/Budget.

The first person I spoke to said he couldn't resolve my issue, and gave me a phone number that reaches a busy signal (and turned out to be Budget rental car company's number). I called using the pissed customer number and my issue was resolved.

i booked the car 2 weeks ahead and had it paid for so after waiting 2 hours at airport to get a car they tell me i’m on a do not rent list !!! what ??!!! i have never rented from budget or avis before ever ! so i’m stranded with 3 kids at the airport on my vacation and still have not got a refund so i could get another car ! horrible mess . it’s ok they can put me on whatever list , i will never use them or priceline again ever
