Avis in Princeton, NJ refused to honor Costco free extra driver benefit because 'the computer wouldn't allow it." We met all requirements (have done this many times before). Called Avis Costco agent who told me he couldn't help; agent had to do it.
Switched me to Avis Customer Service.
After long time hold; Customer Service said same thing: "I can't help you, only the Avis desk agent can" When I explained that was pointless, he just got angry and repeated the same thing. Avis later Tweeted a confirmation that the Avis agent should have honored the Costco policy but offered no help or anything else.
