Avis review in Wells, England: Extremely Poor Customer Service

I rented a car for Avis in Wichita Kansas. The customer service rep was not welcoming and friendly at all. She gave me a car that did not even have a USB port so that I could charge my phone and also have access to Google maps to get directions to my hotel. I went back inside to the counter to inform of the need for a USB and request for another car. She tired to charge me additional fees which I refused to pay. She then offered another car. I asked if that car had a USB and her response was I don't know, so I asked that she get up and walk outside to verify. With an attitude, she asked that I meet her to the car space. I walked outside and stood in excess of 20 minutes until one of the attendants asked me if I needed help with something. I asked for a manager who came outside in the hot garage where I waited. He came back with the keys to the car that we were supposed to be checking for the USB and said that the representative had to keys next to her but she got busy with a line of customers. So, I asked him was it customary that they ask their customer to go into the hot garage and wait for them, then they turn around and assist other customers before completion of servicing the previous customer? He of course said no and apologized again... I told him that I wanted this incident documented on paper because this is unacceptable and not in good taste for a major rent a car company. I am very sad to say that Kansas totally dropped the ball which does not reflect on the other cities (Avis) that I have rented with which went over above and beyond. Kansas could use more customer service training and also better cars because my car wheel alignment is so bad that if I let the wheel go for even a second, I may end up in Oklahoma.

I have rented with avis in jacksonville fl in mayport and i walked in gave my c card was charged for the car. I didnt have to pay a deposit which was great and the customer service was great got car returned no hidden charges nothing perfect rental UNTIL Now. I had set up to go get my granddaughters out of town and my jeep that i drive is not safe to drive on the highway so i decided to rent a car from avis on lane ave in jacksonville fl. Well first i tried to do the reservation on line it said with a red box address didnt match c card. So i tried again and guess what same thing do i called my bank and they said it got ran through 4 times. Remind you my c card is a secured card which i have a small limit on. My card had already exceeded the limit i have. So i called avis back talked to a wonderful helpful woman that told me shed *** three of the charges and gave me a new confirmation number which i thought was wierd being as i already had four and could have used one of them. So i asked her my car is paid for right yes it is. So now i go in to get my car(keep in mind granddaughters mother single mom already set up for her to go to work since i was on my way). And the rude guy behind the counter which too busy being on his phone told me he needed the credit card and license he needed the credit xard for 100.00 deposit and i told him i was not supposed to pay a deposit and he got smart and said yes you do and my car was not paid for. I have no other credit card nor do i have anymore credit on that card now here i am waiting for 15minutes the first time and 17 the second time and the third time i called customer service i got someone which put me on hold for 15 min to talk to supervisor. The supervisor art was smart allic the second he got on the phone there was nothing he could do he was soooo rude i had him on soeaker and several people heard him. I told him he had no business being a supervisor and when i toldd him i was gonna call corporate office he said well listen here my name is art number ??????? There you go he said. So i had to drive my jeep which was a very unsafe ride because i had no other choice brcause my granddaughters wohld have been left at home at night by themselves. Thanks avis for making this the worst experience i have ever had.

Avis review - Worst service ever
Experienced worst service ever. They charged me $440 for renting a car for 4 days. They have never informed me beforehand that I have to refill the fuel tank when I return the car. They charged $10 per gallon and I was charged an extra $115 only for fuel. Moreover, they have charged me $36 twice for the insurance. I paid for insurance beforehand from my discover credit card and then they charged it again from my capital one credit card as well!!!And so many hidden charges. I would never recommend AVIS to anybody!! Full of scam!! They dont tell you beforehand of the charges and fees also.

I rented an SUV for 1 day out of Denver and returned it to Aspen. Sunroof/windshield had a leak that caused water to pour into the vehicle through the ceiling into the cup holder where my phone was. My phone was sitting in 3 inches of water. I immediately drove to the Aspen location. Was told a manager would call me. Never heard from anyone. Returned the car 1 month ago. I have been given the run around by Avis ever since. I now have a broken phone with no answers from Avis. I have tried filing a claim, asked to speak to supervisors, and nothing has worked. The only thing they tell me is that it could take another 3 weeks to hear back on how to move forward with a claim.

Rented a jeep in kc 3 years ago, the vehicle was beat up, high miles, but had no choice. Had road debris fly up and break windshield, returned vehicle in tucson, az. Rental people there said the car was junk and they'd send to auction, not to worry about the windshield. I notified my insurance agent to be safe, he contacted avis and got no response. Three years later I get notified by a sleazy attorney that avis is pursuing the "case" to recoup their costs to fix vehicle! Insurance finally gets avis to accept the cost of repairs, minus attorney fees...but here comes the sleazy attorney wanting more money. Thing is, avis never called or notified me of any charges! I will never use avis again, they are absolutely awful!

Details
I am tired of paying for one car and 90% of the time getting something less. Reserved premium car and got standard gas guzzling SUV, I could have rented the SUV for less. Premium car was labeled as Ford Taurus or similar, standard SUV is not similar to Ford Taurus and certainly not premium. Haven't got an upgrade in a long time even using coupons not to mention the benefit of a Perferred member for over 20 years. Avis rental fee has continued to go up while service and perks have went down. Can anyone explain why this is happening all over the country. I reserved a car for pick up at 3:00 pm last Friday. I called earlier that day to follow up. I arrived at 2:55pm. They were closed, sign on the door said back in 10 minutes. At 3:15 no one had shown up. Other customers were also waiting. At 3:20, I called the 800 customer service. They did NOTHING!!! At 3:30 no one still had shown up. I called Enterprise which is about 100 yards away. At 3:50 I was pulling out of Enterprise with a great car at a lower rate. I have never heard back from Avis, they said they would call or send an email. This was in Jackson TN

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They stole $1500 from me! And they don't care! Dont ever give them your card number. They will take it empty your bank account! I am screwed right now because I can't pay my bills, buy food, I am broke! They are the worst company EVER! I will tell everyone I come in contact with about this company! THEY WILL *** HARD! DONT TRUST THEM! AND THEY DON'T CARE.......MY PLACE I RENTED FROM WAS IN KATY,TX. THEY SUCK.....BEWARE! THEY WILL TAKE EVERYTHING THEY CAN AND THEN SOME!!!! the worst part id they act like it's no big deal! They said "sorry"...REALLY? sorry? No your not!
