i got dirty car after 3 hours waiting in Munich airport when i returned the car they charge me ( 225 EU), 100 EU for cleaning & 125 EU I don't why they told me tax ( it’s mentioned in original booking).. this company treat their clients as *** they giving me cheap price when i booked the car through their website , then you will stuck with them after finish your car rental. i will not rent a car with this company again.. they turned my vacation... Hello Here’s my case: From Aug 2 - Aug 12 I rented a car with Avis Italy in Catania, Airport. Since I damaged the car (scratch on the door) I had to pay the deductible amount of EUR 1’000 - which is ok. However, Avis charged + 22% for the taxes (which I guess is still ok) and then added + 17% of airport charges, which I am not ok with. The rental i had was towed because my son had borrowed it and got into trouble. I called the towing company and they said that they could come get the car at any time. I informed them of this and they told me they would have someone to get the car as soon as possible. That was last week on the 4th. I have been an Avis customer for more years than I care to recall, primarily out of habit: they certainly don't treat me like a valued customer who rents from them most weeks. I have regularly complained to them about certain facilities that continue to employ the rudest and laziest staff, renting out dirty, smelly cars and consistently failing to have Preferred cars ready to go. I have had the same miserable experience with Avis. Gross overcharging. Was supposed to be 203.00 ended up with a charge of 575.00!!! They added insurance ( which I told them repeatedly that I did not want!!!) they even charged me 89.00 for prepaid gas even though I returned the car with a full tank. I was involved in a hit and run accident, the person was driving an Avis rental car. I contacted Avis about the repairs and medical expenses and was told I needed to wait 10-15 days for a claim number and an adjuster in order to get a rental car and my car fixed. I would not rent from Avis ever again, I was told my charges would be $210, today I got an email for charges of $654.55, they also did this to my sister after telling their customers they close at 2:30 and it is ok to bring the car back and put keys in the Dropbox as long as it is before initial drop off time. I am a frequent Avis Preferred Plus user. I reserved a car for my wife but unlike Hertz, Avis will not let you reserve a car under a spouse's Wizard number. I even prepaid for it to try and save a few dollars on a $600 weekly rental. When she went to pick up her rental at the Memphis Airport counter she had a horrible angry experience that has now changed my loyalty to Avis. I think my chat session with an Avis representative says it all, but you can judge for yourself: I was booking a premium SUV rental at YYC and entered everything and hit confirm and was told my information had been cleared for security reasons, please enter it again. Interestingly, it remembered everything about my booking except my car selection (can't see how that could be a security concern) so I reselected Premium SUV and now the rental... Read more
