I went to pick up my fully pre-paid / non-refundable car at the office in Moorea, and was told for the first time that I had to authorize $10,000 FP on my credit card for a damage deposit. Rented a car in San Diego for 1 week and first problem was they had closed the return site at the airport and moved during this week without notifying. While in Norway, we rented a van in Oslo for one day. We drove it around town and dropped it at the airport, where they told us and flew home to the US. Left LAX for LAS, all flights home were cancelled today, so we rented a car, thought we be leaving the same day so that's what I told them. Plane delayed 10 hrs so still within the 24 hr window. If I can rate a 0 to Avis, I will definitely do it! Avis charged me $1,747 for renting a Ford focus for one day! This is what happened: I was a teacher who just arrived America, and need to rent a car, so I went to one of Avis store locating in Waterford and they gave me a ford focus with half-full gas, and I was told just keep it half full when I return it(while I was charged $60 for keeping it... Didn't have the mercedes we ordered. Lousy counter service at CDG in France. All displays in car werein Russian (!). Speedometer didn't work. Seats didn't work. Never followed up as promised. Will post photoslater today. Add comment

We reserved with Avis months ago. We just arrived at the Winter Park Florida office to pick it up. But Avis is saying they do have our reservation but sorry, they have no car for us. What then does the reservation acomplish? Its worthless! Add comment
